- The Department of Post has released a beta version of the National Addressing Grid, DIGIPIN (Digital Postal Index Number).
- Developed with IIT Hyderabad
- It aims to provide a permanent digital infrastructure for addressing
- The system divides the country into 4m x 4m units,
- Each unit is assigned a unique 10-digit alphanumeric code based on geographical coordinates.
- This code serves as an offline addressing reference that is useful for locating addresses.
- No private address data is stored, ensuring privacy.
eSankhyiki portal
- The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has launched the eSankhyiki portal
