USA entry in World War 2

1. The USA had resisted involvement in the war, it was unwilling to face another economic crisis after the war.
2. But it could not stay out of the war for long.
3. Japan was expanding its power in the east.
4. It had occupied French Indo-China.
5. Japan was planning attacks on US naval bases in the Pacific.
6. When Japan extended its support to Hitler and bombed the US base at Pearl Harbour, the US entered the Second World War.
7. The war ended in May 1945 with Hitler’s defeat and the US dropping the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan.
